Distraction/Proofing seminar

Monday Sept 18, 2023 Time: 530-830pm LIMITED SPACE LEFT
Tuesday Sept 19, 2023 Time: 8am-11am (If enough interest)
Location: Ashley’s Dog Sports in Jacksonville Florida.
This seminar will be geared to teams who are Novice and Open level. Teams must be able to do 10-12 obstacle sequences, 14+ course work preferred. Teams that have started to trial or about to trial are welcome. Dogs should be jumping their competition height, able to weave, and perform all the equipment.
Teams will be introduced to varying types of distractions commonly seen in a trial environment. These will include, but not limited to barking dogs, people, general noise, toys, and food. Each dog will be evaluated for their ability to deal with distractions and no dog will be subjected to fearful distractions. Skills will be proofed with distractions and added energy and excitement. Which will include varying handling positions, movement, verbals, and behavior.
FAQ
1. Does my dog have to be weaving independently? No, your dog doesn’t have to weave perfectly. The use of training aids will be fine.
2. What if my dog is more advanced than Novice-Open. FANTASTIC! The seminar is designed for any dog struggling with distractions or any dog who needs more confident and independent obstacle performances.
Any other questions just ask.
General trial rules, expectations, measuring, and support will be discussed for upcoming trials.
