This is P!NK, my border collie. The before picture is her when she first arrived with me and the after is her photo after being in my conditioning program for 8 weeks. You should be able to see the visible differences in her body. She is on the same stacking blocks in each photo! Pretty cool, right? A conditioning program that is specific to your dog is key and you can see the differences physically and in the performance ring. I am so excited to have an exclusively online class on developing a custom conditioning and fitness plan. This class will be taught through the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. Registration is now open and class begins 02/01. You can read more about the class and register here.
If a 6 week online class is not something you are prepared to commit that’s okay. We have workshops! This month I have a Cavaletti pole workshop. Cavaletti poles are my go to exercise with dogs that need, lengthening strides, collection work, forelimb strength work, bend work etc. We can go ahead and say that Cavaletti poles are fun and functional! you can read more about the workshop and register here.
You can see the obvious benefits to conditioning and fitness with the changes in the body. You cannot see the benefits of strengthening the body for injury prevention. One of the awesome perks to having a conditioning program is that we gain injury prevention. It doesn’t mean we still cannot sustain an injury, but statistics show the rate is less. Pretty neat 🙂
